this work grows out of an ongoing interest in care, witnessing, accumulation, and the traces left by human presence. While care is often understood as an act of preservation, it is equally an act of transformation. The things we care for most; children, homes, relationships, and communities are shaped by our attention and bear evidence of that care through wear, adaptation, and change.
Within an exhibition centered on care, the installation invites visitors to move through and become part of the work. Each step leaves a mark. Every footprint becomes both an act of participation and a record of presence.
The final form of the piece cannot be predetermined. It emerges through the movements of individuals over the course of the exhibition.
What begins as a uniform surface gradually becomes a record of collective behavior, revealing pathways, patterns, hesitations, and accumulations created through repeated acts of passage.
